Food for thought

In the morning Adele from heart foundation came to our class to talk to us about our health. She was telling us what to eat and what not to eat.

She started off by telling us about proteins, calcium, vitamins, minerals, fibre, energy, iron, salt, sugar, fat and oil. She also was telling us about junk food and healthy food to eat.

While she was here we did activities like finding the drink that had no sugar in it. So we had to put it in order but most of us got the order wrong. Adele also showed us a container of five teaspoons, that was heaps. We also did one activity were we had a plastic big card with the cereal name on it, we had to find out the energy, fat, sugar, fibre and sodium in it. After we did that activity Adele told us to stand us and do five star jumps and sit back down.

After Adele finished talking to us about keeping healthy she was talking to us about our plate, what to put on our plates and how much to put on our plates. She said “ You should have at least vegetables, carbohydrate and protein on on you plate. ” She also said “ The size of your palm is how much should be on your plate. “

A had a fantastic time with Adele learning how to keep healthy and what to eat to keep healthy. Adele said she will meet us next time on 2 Thursday .
