Tech @TC - Robotics #2

Today we went to Tamaki College , for technology. Today when we got into class there were tables that were separated for safety reasons.

First thing we did was logging into our computers, and started playing the Binary  game then went on playing the Classic maze   game , were you have to give it set instructions to do what you have asked it to do. This time the coding game was a different compared to the last game one we've done, because it was the angry bird trying to catch the naughty green pig. We had to complete all twenty levels, and I've completed all of it. Then we ended the class off with two quizizz games, about naming the logo.

Tech Online Class - TC - Robotics #1

Today we had tech, but this time it was different. We had tech online, and I was in robotics with Mr. Krishna. To be honest the work we did was very easy. At first we started playing this Binary Game ; to play this game all you have to do it add the numbers up and add then put the answer in the box to the right, or you write the total in the box.

The next thing we did was a quizizz game. It was questions about robotics. Then we played a coding game called ; Minecraft Voyage Aquatic, where we made the code for the character to get to its destination, then took screenshots of the code and the picture at the end when you finished it. Then place the screenshots of the game onto a slide, for Mr.Krishna to see our progress, whether it was easy for us or not. Finally we finished our class , thanked mr. and off we went , finishing off our work.

I'd say that robotics is very interesting due to you coding thing to make an object or character move place to place.

Tech @Tamaki College #6

Today was the first day of  technology this term. When I got into Mr. Grundy's class I got my box, and I started straight away. I put my name on the board for help, and Mr. Grundy came to me. When he approached me he told me to use some water and the 1200 grit to sand my necklace. The next thing I did was polish my necklace with a polishing bottle called 'Brasso.' Then after I finished polishing my artwork , I was given an option weither I wanted to make a box to put my artwork in or not, and yes of course I wanted to make a box, so I did. I choose the colour blue to be and the colour of my box. But I need to glue it on next week.

Tech @Tamaki College #5

Today at technology, I got into class and I put my name up on the board.  When my name got called out, I raised my hand and Mr Grundy came up to me and gave me a sand paper which was 400 grit sandpaper. Which means I've made progress. After filing for a long time I got given a 800 grit sandpaper. I am proud that I've made great progress with my project.

Tech @ Tamaki College #4

Today at Technology I was onto the stage of filling in my report about my pewter casting. On this piece of paper all you have to do is explain what and why you made it, and who it's for. I was also  filing off my pewter casting with a p180 sandpaper grit which was pretty easy. But hopefully next week I get to move on to the next sandpaper grit.  I am actually pleased with how far I have gone with my project.

Rotating Classes @ Glen Innes School

Intro >--<
Colleges give students the freedom to switch classes when there is a legitimate excuse. In general, you must switch classes in school at every period. Most colleges have their schedules like that but some don’t. Switching classes is good because you can focus on different things in different classes also being that you can learn more.

Do I like swapping classes? ^_^
Yes, yes I do! Very much I like swapping classes for many/multiple reasons, one being I don’t get tired just listening to one teacher's voice all day long and then start dozing off to sleep. I know for a fact that students get tired easily by listening to one teacher all day because they sometimes get irritated or sometimes just don’t want to hear their voices anymore.

In addition to the paragraph above ; )
When a class doesn’t challenge you, you may find it boring and your time may be better spent in a course that expands your knowledge and skills. Alternatively, a class that’s too difficult is a good reason to switch.

Different level ;0
Each teacher has a unique personality and teaching style. If a teacher’s teaching style clashes with your learning style, your grades might suffer. The same is also true if a teacher doesn’t foster your learning effort, according to a May 2011 article on the CNN website... Rather than give up on the class, you may find more success with a different teacher. If you think that having a different professor could help you academically, talk to your advisor, and explain the situation. He/she may be able to recommend a professor who teaches the same course in a manner that better suits your learning style. Or, a professor who can do different things but still be able to teach that particular area/subject properly.

Idea/thought about it “-”
I like the idea/thought of us year sevens and eights to swap classes after break time, because then we would have a better understanding of how college would be like, due to swapping classes an everyday day. I think it is best to keep it that way, since our year eights would be leaving intermediate next year, and also best because then the year sevens would already know how the rotation is going to go on with whatever college they're going to.

Liking it “^”
I'd like to thank whoever came up with a swapping class at our school because it helps a lot. It helps with different things, one being that we would already have experience and also that we don't have to hear our same teachers voice all over again. especially because I know that children tend to not listen and end up sleeping like they're in bed or on the beach.

Thanks
With that being said I'd like to thank Mrs. Tu'Akoi & Mrs. Petersen for organising this rotating/swapping/changing class idea every time after the break. I appreciate what you teachers have done for us year sevens and eight. It would help us in our afterlife(college).

During hard-material today, my friend and I was onto the second to last stage, which was using a sand paper to smooth out our piece of pewter. Sand paper is a paper to make items smooth and very clear.
While I was on the second to last stage with my friend we both learnt that making a pewter necklace is obviously made with pewter. Pewter is a malleable metal.

Pendant: Pewter Cross/Plain - Necklaces and Pendants - Pleroma ...Silver Puzzle Piece Necklace - Silver Pewter Puzzle Piece Charm on ...
These are two examples of what a pewter necklace looks like. I'm doing a puzzle just like the picture on the right.

Today at technology I have moved on to the next step after I fnished cutting out the shape of my necklace. Mr Grundy poured the pewter into my design and letting it sit for 6-7 minutes. Then after that I took it out of the square wood peice and started filing my necklace to which I was satisfied with. But next week I have to finish it off and then cut the end of the piece.

Tech @Tamaki College #1

It was my first day at Tamaki College for technology since the lockdown. I am in Mr Grundy's class 'Hard material'. In hard material we are making necklaces. We are doing pewter casting. Meaning , you add pewter to your desing your making and let it sit for 6-7 minutes for it to cool down. But before you add our pewter you have to shape you desing out on a wood. In class we have a document which is called our 'work book' we have to think of four people to whom we are going to make it for. I choose to make it for my brother. I have choosen to make a puzzle.
