Amazing Art!

Today after morning tea my class and I made food art on a plate with play-doh, icing and some raisins. We made it about our festival foods but if we couldn't find our food from our festival than we could do any food art on a plate. I did a snail, sun and some grass. For me cause it was easy and sort of hard to make but I still made. I also helped make the play-doh with three other students and I helped our teacher Mrs Ramkalawan make the play -doh the colours we did was green, yellow, blue and red. I'd love to make this again with more colours and try make a much difficult one. I made and chose to make a snail with play-doh because it was an easy one I've thought of. This is my food art I made:

Project composting and worm farming

This term my group of Eden, Meliana, La’Shae and I made this project.  Our inquiry investigation question was investigate the different species of worms in New Zealand. First, we used the internet to research our topic.  Then we constructed this project. Eden an I helped pour the the mud / dirt onto the display. Meliana and La’Shae helped with sticking the paper onto the pink paper. We used yellow, pink, white paper and dirt to create it. What was easy? It was easy to staple the papers onto the box. What was difficult? The most difficult part was to stick the white paper on the box because there was a big hole in between. How did this help your learning? What would you like to investigate next? I’d like to investigate how animals were created.

Composting and worm farming bokashi

After the lunch bell went we lined up at the courts and listened to
Mr Naidoo tell us about not to throw away our meat and orange peels,
because you can compost it in a different bin with no worms and
will not smell. When I lined up I learnt a new thing which is
you can put meat and orange peels into the composting bin.
First you need to get two buckets with one of them with holes
in it and the other with none, then put the bucket with holes on
top of the one with no holes. Then get some Bokashi and put it
in then put the things that can't go into the composting with worms
in it to the one you've just made.

When we were at the Buddhist temple we did this activity, this activity is to make a wish. You grabe a paper and pen from the table then you write I wish to do something the you. After you've finished you get a pin and pin it on the wall then everyone can see it.

Lotus flower

There was an activity that we had to make a Lotus flower. In order to make it you have to take it out, there is numbers 5 to 1 and a one green one. You have to do it 5 down to 1, but first you have to put the green one at the bottom of it. We it's done you have to staple it upside down then the Lotus flower will look like the photo on the right.

Origami Lotus flower and a Bell

Today was a fun day we got to go to the Buddhist temple. One of the activities was to make an Origami Lotus flower, on the flower it has numbers 5 to 1 and when you make it you have to put it biggest number to smallest number. The Lotus flower grows in muddy water it is also native to Asia, the Bell was given to us at the end of all the lessons. On the Bell you can see that it has a red tag hanging out of the Bell, the red tag has 3G and 4G. The 3G is Do Good Deeds / Say Good Words / Think Good Thoughts, the 4G is Give Confident / Give Joy / Give Hope / Give Convenient. That is what I made and what I got from the kind people at the Buddhist Temple today.

Simple Curcuit

Today I learnt something interesting.  We had to do a simple circuit. First, I drew a diagram. Then we made the circuit by following my diagram. The circuit will only work with 2 batteries, not one. I also learnt that if the battery carries more power then the bulb will be brighter. If it carries less power then it will be darker. This simple circuit was great and amazing to do.
